About print2letter

print2letter puts the images and documents you need to print onto Letter sheets for you: several photos per page, both sides of an ID card at real size, invoices two to a page, long screenshots split into readable columns.

It is free, needs no account and has no ads. All processing happens in your browser, so your files stay on your device.

Why I made this

I’m a software developer. For twenty years I’ve edited images in Fireworks; Photoshop always felt too heavy to me. One thing I do a lot is put a few pictures and some text together on one page and print it.

But neither Fireworks nor Photoshop nor any other image editor ever told me plainly: to print on Letter paper, how many pixels wide and tall should the canvas be, and at what resolution? Twenty years in, I still couldn’t remember, and I looked it up every time. In the end I kept a blank canvas, already set to the right size, on my desktop just to get past that step.

Printing one combined page used to go like this: take photos with my phone, move them to the computer, open the image editor, set up the canvas, place and arrange the pictures one by one, save, then print.

I got tired of it, so with the help of development tools I built print2letter, and added a few helpers so that a phone alone is enough to put different images and PDFs together on one page.

Now I just open print2letter on my phone, take a photo, tap a few times, and get a finished page laid out on Letter paper, ready to email or print straight from the phone. Even when the computer in front of me has no image editor, not even Office, that’s no longer a problem.

It has taken a real load off me, and I hope it helps you too.

(By the way, the answer is 2550 × 3300 pixels at 300 dpi. This time I remembered.)
